Christoph Hirche

I am currently a Junior Professor at the Insititute for Information Processing at the University of Hannover

My research area is information theory, with a focus on quantum communication and quantum information processing. I’m interested in exploring the theoretical limitations of these tasks to better understand the potential impact of using quantum information. A particular focus of my work is on entropic quantities, e.g. entropy inequalities and their applications.

Previously, I was a postdoctoral researcher, carrying out a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Global Fellowship with Robert König at TU Munich and Marco Tomamichel at CQT NUS. Before that, I was a postdoctoral researcher in QMATH at the University of Copenhagen, where I worked with Matthias Christandl. I obtained my PhD degree from the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona under the supervision of John Calsamiglia.
