Teaching
My teaching at Leibniz University Hannover connects the foundations of quantum information with current research in quantum computing and information theory.
Summer semester
Quantum Information Processing
Lectures and exercises · 5 ECTS · English
An introduction to quantum states, channels, and measurements, leading to quantum algorithms, communication, error correction, and quantum machine learning. We explore what quantum devices can do and how their capabilities differ from classical information processing.
- Who it's for
- Students getting started in quantum information and quantum computing.
- Preparation
- Basic linear algebra is recommended. Prior knowledge of quantum mechanics or information theory is helpful but optional.
Winter semester
Seminar Quantum Information
Research seminar · English
Explore current research by studying and presenting scientific papers. Topics span quantum information theory, computing, communication, machine learning, and error correction. An introduction to the subject and available topics is followed by independent preparation and discussion.
- Who it's for
- Computer science students interested in working with current research papers.
- Preparation
- Quantum Information Processing is recommended but not required.
